Isaiah 3:14

The LORD will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and the princes thereof: for ye have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses.

The Lord will enter into judgment with the ancients - hence, they are spoken of as "taken away" (Isaiah 3:1).

For ye have eaten up the vineyard - the Jewish theocracy (Isaiah 5:1; Psalms 80:9).

Eaten up - Hebrew, (bihhartem), burnt; namely, by 'oppressive exactions' (). Type of the crowning guilt of the farmers in the days of Jesus Christ, which is the ulterior reference here (Matthew 21:34).
