Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set. So spiritually, Do not irreverently displace the ancient landmarks of faith-e.g., the Pauline test of a standing or falling church, justification by faith only. Impatience of restraint, self-willed independence of spirit and lawless resistance of the authority of divine things are characteristic of the last days (2 Timothy 3:1; 2 Timothy 4:3). Romish traditions are a removing of the ancient landmarks which the Scripture has set up.
