Zechariah 2:2

Then said I, Whither goest thou? And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.

Then said I, Whither goest thou? And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem - (cf. ; Revelation 21:15). The measuring here as in Revelation implies the exactness of the proportions of the city and temple to be restored, and the definite completeness of the numbers both of the literal and of the spiritual Israel.

To see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length - rather, what is to be the due breadth and length.
