I applied mine heart to know, literally, "I turned, I and my heart," and to search and to seek out wisdom and the reason of things, by examining, comparing, and judging the facts offered, and to know the wickedness of folly, even of foolishness and madness, literally, "wickedness, stubbornness, yea, stupidity, madness," the climax showing the utter vanity and futility of opposition to the Word of God, especially in deliberate sins;
