And the Lord repented of the evil which He thought to do unto His people, although, as it seems, He did make known His change of mind at this time, as Exodus 32:30 indicate. As Moses here acted in the capacity of advocate for the sinful people, so Jesus, at once the propitiation for our sins and our Advocate with God, pleads for us with His heavenly Father.
