And the five thousand that are left in the breadth over against the five and twenty thousand, after deducting the breadth of the priests' and of the Levites' portions, shall be a profane place for the city, common land, not used for sacred purposes, for dwelling, that is, for the erection of dwelling-houses, and for suburbs, for free use, for pasture and garden land; and the city shall be in the midst thereof.
