Job 31:23

For destruction from God was a terror to me, Job's fear of God's vengeance had always kept him from wicked acts of this kind, and by reason of His highness I could not endure, being powerless before the majesty of God, a fact which made it morally impossible for him to become guilty of merciless conduct.
