The Harvest Festival, or Weeks, i.e. of the completion of the corn harvest (p. 103, Numbers 28:26). In a country so varied topographically as Palestine, there may be two months-' difference between the harvest in the valleys and in the high lands. The fixing of a definite date would follow the centralisation of the festival. The loaves waved at this festival are the same in size as at Mazzoth, but two instead of one, and they are leavened. There is no need of haste, as when the sheaf of the first-fruits had to be presented without any delay seven weeks before. Instead of one lamb, as at the earlier festival, two lambs and one goat; all belong to the priest. For Leviticus 23:22, see Leviticus 19:9 *.
