2. In rural Judœa.

(1) All men flock to the ministry and baptism of Jesus, a circumstance which leads the disciples of John, who was baptising in Ænon, to ask him the meaning and bearing of this fact (John 3:22);

(2) the closing testimony of John the Baptist to Jesus in this Gospel (John 3:27).
