John 16:31-32

Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come.

The answer of the Lord shows that he recognized the incompleteness of the faith of his disciples. The words, "Do ye now believe?" question the power of the faith they had just affirmed. In the very hour that was now at hand it would be tried. Instead of clinging to him they would be scattered, every one would look out for himself, and would leave him alone in the hands of his enemies. For the fulfillment, read all the accounts of the arrest, trial and crucifixion of the Savior.

Yet. am not alone.

Though men might desert him he would not be left alone, for be would have the Father's help.
