ὅθεν ἦσαν παραδεδομένοι τῇ χάριτι τοῦ θεοῦ, from whence they had been commended to the grace of God. It is necessary to recur to the more usual meaning of παραδίδοσθαι before we reach the whole sense of these words. It is most commonly used of giving up to enemies, and of exposing to danger; and that there were dangers and foes in abundance before them those who sent out Barnabas and Paul knew, but while sending them into danger, they had faith in the grace of God for them.
