μετὰ πάντων. The word “men” is better omitted, for doubtless the writer is thinking mainly of peace in the bosom of the little Christian community—a peace which, even in these early days, was often disturbed by rival egotisms (Romans 14:19; 2 Timothy 2:22).

καὶ τὸν ἁγιασμόν. “And the sanctification” (Hebrews 9:13; Hebrews 10:10; Hebrews 10:29; Hebrews 13:12).

οὗ χωρίς. We have here in succession two iambics:

οὗ χωρὶς οὐδεὶς ὄψεται τὸν κύριον,

ἐπισκοποῦντες μή τις ὑστερῶν�.
