μὴ μετεωρίζεσθε. Here alone in the N.T. Literally, ‘Do not toss about like boats in the offing,’—a metaphor for suspense. Cicero says, “So I am in suspense (μετέωρος) and entangled in great perplexities.” Ad Att. XV. 14. It is like the Latin fluctuo and fluito.
