ὁ υἱός σου οὗτος ὁ καταφαγών σου τὸν βίον μετὰ πορνῶν. Every syllable breathes rancour. He disowns all brotherhood; and says “came,” not “returned;” and tries to wake his father’s anger by saying “thy living;” and malignantly represents the conduct of his erring brother in the blackest light; and calls his brother by the contemptuous term οὗτος.
