δύναμαι καταλῦσαι κ.τ.λ. The actual words of Jesus spoken (John 2:19) in the first year of his ministry were, λύσατε τὸν ναὸν τοῦτον καὶ ἐν τρίσιν ἡμέραις ἐγερῶ αὐτόν, not ‘I am able to destroy’ (note that ἐγερῶ is appropriate to raising from the dead, and is very different from οἰκοδομῆσαι). The attempt was to convict Jesus of blasphemy in asserting a superhuman power.
