1. As Hezron was the son of PEREZ (ch. 1 Chronicles 2:5) and (if the
LXX. be right) Shobal was the son of Hur (1 Chronicles 2:50, note), we
have in this verse five, if not six, generations.

name of the city cp. Genesis 35:19 (_Ephrath the same_is _Bethlehem_)
