Menaḥoth63 a) describes this vessel as having a cover and deep; what is put into it is boiled and moist, while what is placed on the baking pan(-flat plate" mg. of R.V. and A.V.) is baked crisp and hard, and broken into pieces (Leviticus 2:6).
