Numbers 21 - Introduction
This chapter is full of difficulties, critical and geographical, about some of which it is impossible to reach any certain conclusions. It relates the journey to the steppes of Moab opposite Jericho, together with three victories over the Canaanites (Numbers 21:1), Sihon king of the Amorites (Numbers 21:21), and Og the king of Bashan (Numbers 21:33). The whole section is from J E, with the probable exception of Numbers 21:1; Numbers 21:10and Numbers 22:1.
