redness Comp. Genesis 49:12, where however the word is used of the effect of wine on the eyes in a good sense. The LXX. have here τίνος πελιδνοὶ (bloodshot) οἱ ὀφθαλμοί; suffusio oculorum, Vulg. Some however render the word darknesshere (R.V. marg.), and darkor dark-flashing(in contrast to the white teeth) in Genesis.
