Siegfried would understand the words of the marriage bed, sprinkled with sweet smelling substances; but that is incompatible with the following verse, and is moreover not supported by Psalms 92:10, where the word translated -green" here is rendered by -fresh," for in all probability it ought to be translated -green" there also, since the best kind of olive oil is green.
