Proverbs 19 - Introduction
NOTICEABLE GROUPINGS IN CHAPTER 19
Poor
Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity Than he that is perverse in his lips and is a fool (Proverbs 19:1).
The poor is separated from his friend (Proverbs 19:4).
All the brethren of the poor do hate him: How much more do his friends go far from him! He pursueth them with words, but they are gone (Proverbs 19:7).
He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto Jehovah (Proverbs 19:17).
A poor man is better than a liar (Proverbs 19:22).
Rich
Wealth added many friends (Proverbs 19:4).
House and riches are an inheritance from fathers (Proverbs 19:14).
Fools

Speech

A false witness shall not be unpunished; And he that uttereth lies shall not escape (Proverbs 19:5).
A false witness shall not be unpunished; And he that uttereth lies shall perish (Proverbs 19:9).
The contentions of a wife are a continual dripping (Proverbs 19:13).
A poor man is better than a liar (Proverbs 19:22).
A worthless witness mocketh at justice; And the mouth of the wicked swalloweth iniquity (Proverbs 19:28).
Knowledge
That the soul be without knowledge is not good (Proverbs 19:2).
He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: He that keepeth understanding shall find good (Proverbs 19:8).
Hear counsel, and receive instruction, That thou mayest be wise in they latter end (Proverbs 19:20).
Smite a scoffer, and the simple will learn prudence; And reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge (Proverbs 19:25).
Scoffers
Smite a scoffer (Proverbs 19:25).
Judgments are prepared for scoffers (Proverbs 19:29).
Anger
The discretion of a man maketh him slow to anger (Proverbs 19:11).
The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion (Proverbs 19:12).
A man of great wrath shall bear the penalty; For if thou deliver him, thou must do it yet again (Proverbs 19:19).
Sons
A foolish son is the calamity of his father (Proverbs 19:13).
Chasten thy son, seeing there is hope; And set not thy heart on his destruction (Proverbs 19:18).
He that doeth violence to his father, and chaseth away his mother, Is a son that causeth shame and bringeth reproach (Proverbs 19:26).
Wife
The contentions of a wife are a continual dripping (Proverbs 19:13).
A prudent wife is from Jehovah (Proverbs 19:14).
Slothfulness
Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; And the idle soul shall suffer hunger (Proverbs 19:15).
The sluggard burieth his hand in the dish, And will not so much as bring it to his mouth again (Proverbs 19:24).
Heart
His heart fretteth against Jehovah (Proverbs 19:3).
There are many devices in a man's heart; But the counsel of Jehovah, that shall stand (Proverbs 19:21).
