Phil. 2:11. And every tongue should confess. In the place of the Old Testament, that is here quoted, it is, every tongue shall swear, which confirms, that by swearing by God's name, so often spoken of in the Old Testament, as a great duty of God's people, is meant publicly professing the true God, and entering into covenant with him.
