EZEKIEL—NOTE ON Ezekiel 4:7 The arm bared (compare Isaiah 52:10) suggests the “outstretched arm” (e.g., Exodus 6:6; Ezekiel 20:33) with which the Lord acts on behalf of his people. In this situation, however, the Lord is acting against Jerusalem. Ezekiel’s silence (Ezekiel 3:26) gives way to speech when he is told to prophesy against the city.
