Jeremiah 22:3

JEREMIAH—NOTE ON Jeremiah 22:3 The king and those with him are not to use their power for personal advantage, but are to rule in justice and righteousness. “Justice” means making right decisions according to God’s commands and case laws. “Righteousness” means doing what is correct according to God’s moral standards (see Jeremiah 4:2; Jeremiah 9:24). deliver. Rescue from harm. This passage spells out the responsibilities of the ideal king over God’s people (see Jeremiah 7:6; contrast Jeremiah 22:13, Jeremiah 22:15). The messianic King will carry this out (Jeremiah 23:5; Jeremiah 33:15).
