In 1Ma 11:24 we have silver, gold and raiment, joined together as in this verse, describing Eastern riches, cf. James 5:2-3. ἐπεθ., “he takes away that which is the root of all evil, the love of money”; be says not “I have not taken,” but “not even coveted ” Chrys., Hom., xlv.
