The partial character of the rejection of God's people is proved, first by the conversion of St. Paul himself (Romans 11:1); then by the existence of a whole Judeo-Christian church (Romans 11:2-6). And if this church does not contain the entire Jewish people, it is the effect of a judgment of a partial hardening rendered necessary by the moral state of the people (Romans 11:7-10).
