It is difficult to understand how, if a;cri th/j VAsi,aj were original, the phrase would have been omitted. Furthermore, as Conzelmann points out, 356 it appears that the author of 1 Timothy envisaged a situation in Paul’s activities that is reflected in a text of Acts lacking the addition.
