On the one hand, external evidence tends to favor the reading without h`mw/n. On the other hand, the presence of h`mw/n four words earlier with to. ge,noj may well have prompted copyists to delete the second instance of the pronoun as superfluous. In order to represent both considerations, a majority of the Committee decided to include the word in the text, but to enclose it within square brackets in order to indicate a measure of doubt that it belongs there.
