Some however infer from Mark's account that the messengers went some distance, and hence that the feast was given in a royal palace at Livias (not far from Machaerus), while others think the nobility of Galilee would more probably be invited to Tiberias, the usual residence of Herod. But the words ‘give me here' (Matthew 14:8), indicate that the prison was not far off .
