Contents: Cheerful acknowledgement of God's goodness and dependence upon that goodness for the future.

Characters: God.

Conclusion: Never failing streams of mercy flow from our God. The more our hearts are impressed with the sense of His goodness, the more we are bound to praise Him and the more our hearts will be enlarged in all manner of obedience.

Key Word: Thanks, Psalms 118:1; Psalms 118:29.

Strong Verses: Psalms 118:6; Psalms 118:8 (middle verse of Bible).

Striking Facts: Psalms 118:22. Jesus Christ is the tried stone, elect, precious, which God Himself appointed. While the Jews could not see the excellence in Him that they should build upon Him, in raising Him from the dead God made Him the headstone of the corner, the foundation of the church. To the rejector He is now a stumbling stone. At His second coming He is the stone cut out without hands which is to fall upon and crush the unbelieving nations.
