Isaiah 13 - Introduction
A.M. 3274. B.C. 730.
We now enter upon the second part of Isaiah's prophecies, containing a wonderful account of God's dealings with the enemies of his church and people. It begins at this chapter and extends to the twenty-fourth, comprising eight discourses. The first respects the fate of Babylon, and occupies this whole chapter and the next, to Isaiah 14:28. We have here God's armies, Isaiah 13:1. The destruction of Babylon by the Medes and Persians; their great distress, and anguish, and utter destruction, Isaiah 13:6.
