Isaiah 21 - Introduction
A.M. 3290. B.C. 714.
We have here, under a mystical name, a second representation of the overthrow of Babylon by the Medes and Persians, Isaiah 21:1; Isaiah 21:2. The prophet, to show the dreadfulness of the calamity, represents himself as being seized with astonishment and horror at the prospect of it, Isaiah 21:3; Isaiah 21:4. An emblematical confirmation of it, Isaiah 21:5. The burden of Dumah or Idumea, Isaiah 21:11; Isaiah 21:12. Of Arabia or Kedar, Isaiah 21:13.
