Joseph Benson’s Bible Commentary
Psalms 125 - Introduction
A.M. 3294. B.C. 710.
It as uncertain who was the author of this Psalm, but it was evidently designed for the encouragement and consolation of God's church and people, in all ages, against the plots and malice of their enemies. The contents of it, says Henry, “may be summed up in those words of the prophet, Say ye to the righteous, It shall be well with him. Wo to the wicked, it shall be ill with him. Thus life and death, the blessing and the curse, are set before us in the Psalms, as well as in the law and the prophets.” We have the safety of them that trust in God, Psalms 125:1. The fate of the wicked, Psalms 125:5.
