2 Kings 23:30

30 And his servants carried him in a chariot dead from Megiddo, and brought him to Jerusalem, and buried him in his own sepulchre. And the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and anointed him, and made him king in his father's stead.

Did Josiah die at Megiddo or at Jerusalem?

PROBLEM: This verse says Josiah died in the city of Megiddo, but elsewhere it affirms he died in Jerusalem (2 Chronicles 35:24).

SOLUTION: The Chronicles passage merely states that he died; the Kings text tells us specifically where he died. It says clearly, “Pharaoh Necho killed him at Megiddo when he confronted him. Then his servants moved his body in a chariot from Megiddo, brought him to Jerusalem, and buried him in his own tomb” (2 Kings 23:29-30).
