XV.
Judges 15:1. Samson, desiring to return to his wife, learns that she has been betrothed to another. Judges 15:3. He revenges himself by setting fire to the crops of the Philistines by means of jackals and fire-brands. Judges 15:6. The Philistines burn his wife and her father. Judges 15:7. He inflicts a massacre upon them. Judges 15:9. He is handed over to them by the people of Judah. Judges 15:14. He breaks his cords, and slaughters a thousand with the jaw-bone of an ass.
