Verse Isaiah 15:2. _HE IS GONE TO BAJITH, AND TO DIBON_] עלה
הבית _alah_ _habbayith_, should be rendered, _he is gone to the
HOUSE_, i.e., to their chief temple, where they practiced idolatry.

Moab crieth within her"] For לבי _libbi, my heart_, the
_Septuagint_ reads לבו _libbo, his heart_, or לב _leb_; the
_Chaldee_, לבו libbo. For בריחיה _bericheyha_, the _Syriac_

Verse Isaiah 15:7. "Shall perish"] אבדו _abadu_ or אבדה
_abadeh_. This word seems to have been lost out of the text: it is
supplied by the parallel place, Jeremiah 48:36. The _Syriac_ expresses
it by עבר _aber, praeteriit_, "he hath passed;" and the _Chaldee_

Verse Isaiah 15:9. _THE WATERS OF DIMON_] Some have _Dibon_, others
have _Ribon_ and _Rimon_. _St. Jerome_ observes that the same town was
called both _Dibon_ and _Dimon_. The reading is therefore indifferent.
