There were together, Simon Peter, and Thomas, called Didymus, and Nathanael, of Cana, in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples.

If the Reader counts over the number here said to be together, he will find it to be seven. No doubt, all upon the lookout for the renewed visits of the Lord Jesus. And as those here spoken of, were now at the borders of the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias, see John 6:1 it is evident that they were come here from Jerusalem in obedience to Christ's commands, and as the Lord had promised, to see him.
