The diaphragm or midriff, which stretches above the liver all across the thorax. Exodus 29:13, Exodus 1:29; Leviticus 3:4, Leviticus 1:3, Leviticus 1:3; Leviticus 4:9; Leviticus 7:4; Leviticus 8:16, Leviticus 1:8; Leviticus 9:10, Leviticus 1:9. In Hosea 13:8 it is the pericardium, that which encloses the heart.
