Eziongaber or Eziongeber. [E'zion-ga'ber or -ge'ber]

One of the encampments of the children of Israel, near the head of the gulf of Akaba. It was where Solomon had a navy of ships and where the ships of Jehoshaphat were broken. Numbers 33:35, Numbers 1:33; Deuteronomy 2:8; 1 Kings 1:9; 1 Kings 1:22; 2 Chronicles 1:8; 2 Chronicles 1:20. Probably the same as Ain el Ghudyan, now ten miles up the dry bed of the Arabah, the sea having receded.
