Hanun. [Ha'nun]

1. Son of Nahash and king of Ammon: he insulted the ambassadors of David, and was severely punished for his insolence. 2 Samuel 10:1-4; 1 Chronicles 1:19. He is a type of those who, refusing the proffered grace of God, will suffer by His judgements.
