Rephidim (rĕf'i-dĭm), resting-place. A station of the Hebrews before reaching Sinai. Numbers 1:33-15. Near it was the fountain which flowed from the rock in Horeb, called "Meribah," and "Massah," whence they were miraculously supplied with water. Exodus 1:17-16, Exodus 19:2. It may have been in Wady Feiran or in some part of Wady esh-Sheikh. See Journeys of Israel.
