His humiliation was necessary (1) to execute the purpose of God (Acts 2:23, Acts 1:2; Psalms 40:6-8), (2) fulfil the Old Testament types and prophecies, (3) satisfy the law in the room of the guilty (Isaiah 1:53; Hebrews 9:12, Hebrews 1:9), procure for them eternal redemption, (4) and to show us an example.
