Esdras 5:14

And the vessels also of gold and silver of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took out of the temple that was in Jerusalem, and brought them into the temple of Babylon, those did Cyrus the king take out of the temple of Babylon, and they were delivered unto one, whose name was Sheshbazzar, whom he had made governor;

Sheshbazzar, qu'il avait nommé gouverneur. C'était le nom chaldéen ou persan de Zorobabel (voir les notes à Esdras 1:8; Esdras 1:11). "Governor" [ pechaah (H6347)] - un préfet ou un gouverneur en assyrien (2 Rois 18:24), babylonien (Jérémie 51:57), médiane (Jérémie 51:28), et en particulier les empires persans (Esther 8:9; Esther 9:3), inférieur en dignité et en puissance à un satrape. Le nom, après la captivité, a été appliqué au gouverneur de Judée (cf. Aggée 1:1 - Aggée 1:14; Malachie 1:8), mais rarement dans les temps anciens (cf. 1 Rois 10:15; 2 Chroniques 9:14).
