Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid.

Maintenant, à l'endroit où il a été crucifié, il y avait un jardin; et dans le jardin un nouveau sépulcre, où l'homme n'a encore jamais été posé. Le choix de ce tombeau était, de leur côté, dicté par la double circonstance qu'il était si proche, et son appartenance à un ami du Seigneur; et comme il y avait besoin de hâte, ils seraient eux-mêmes frappés de la providence qui la fournissait ainsi.
