But the Chaldeans' army pursued after them, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho: and when they had taken him, they brought him up to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath, where he gave judgment upon him.

Riblah - nord de la Palestine (voir Jérémie 1:14; Nombres 34:11). Hamath est identifié par des commentateurs à Antioche, en Syrie, sur l'Oronte, appelée aussi Epiphania, d'Antiochus Epiphanes.

A rendu un jugement sur lui - littéralement, prononcé des jugements avec lui - c'est-à-dire qu'il a été traduit en justice en tant que criminel ordinaire et non en tant que roi. Il avait violé son serment (Ézéchiel 17:13 - Ézéchiel 17:19; 2 Chroniques 36:13).
