Romains 7:3

So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.

Ainsi donc, si, pendant que son mari est vivant, elle est mariée à un autre homme, elle sera appelée adultère: mais si son mari est mort («meurt»), elle est libérée de cette loi; afin qu'elle ne soit pas adultère, bien qu'elle soit mariée ('jointe') à un autre homme.
