Nehemia 2:7

Moreover I said unto the king, If it please the king, let letters be given me to the governors beyond the river, that they may convey me over till I come into Judah;

Ver. 7. Moreover I said unto the king] He taketh further boldness upon the former encouragement; so may we with Almighty God, the Sun of our righteousness, the Sea of our salvation. Conclude as she did, A company comes. God never left bating till Abraham left begging.

Mi siano date lettere ai governatori ] Quei vicini più prossimi, ma i più grandi nemici.

Perché mi conducano ] Si è affidato a Dio, eppure chiede al re un convoglio. In tutte le nostre imprese ci si deve così fidare di Dio come se non avessimo usato mezzi; eppure il mezzo è così da usare come se non avessimo Dio in cui confidare.
