Osea 2:23

And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God. I will sow her - Alluding to the import of the name Jezreel, the seed of God. Then shall it appear that God has shown mercy to them that had not obtained mercy. Then the covenant of God will be renewed; for he will call them his people who were not his people; and they shall call Jehovah their God, who before had him not for the object of their worship.

Non sembra che queste promesse abbiano avuto il loro compimento tra gli ebrei. Devono essere comprese delle benedizioni sperimentate dai Gentili sulla loro conversione a Dio mediante la predicazione del Vangelo, o devono ancora essere adempiute per gli Ebrei quando abbracciano il Vangelo e vengono riportati alla loro terra.

Le frasi nell'ultima parte di questo verso sono molto brusche, ma estremamente espressive; tralasciando quelle parole fornite dai traduttori, e che innervosiscono il passaggio, sta così: Dirò a Non mio popolo, tu mio popolo; e diranno: Mio Dio.
